Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Pause (bookapause.com), operated by Lotus Systems in Cambodia. By browsing or booking, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy.

What Pause is

Pause is a platform for booking daytime hotel stays (“Pauses”) — limited-hour use of a hotel room and selected facilities, not an overnight reservation unless expressly stated otherwise. Hotels remain responsible for the stay experience on property.

Bookings & guest responsibilities

You must provide accurate guest details and arrive within the stated arrival window.
Pause length is set by the use case you select (for example rest, eat, swim, or work) and ends at the window close time on your confirmation.
Hotels may require ID at arrival and may apply their own house rules (noise, guests, pool hours, smoking, etc.).
You are responsible for damage, excess guests, or misuse during your Pause under hotel policy.

Rates, Cancellations & No-Shows

Prices shown are for daytime Pause rates as configured by each hotel. All bookings made through Pause are pay at hotel ($0 prepayment online). There are no non-refundable rates on Pause — you can cancel your booking for free anytime up until your latest check-in time. All payments for your stay are paid directly to the hotel at check-in or checkout.

No-Show & Blacklist Policy: Because Pause does not collect payment card details, guests are not charged online for a no-show. However, guests who fail to arrive and do not cancel prior to their latest check-in time will have their accounts blacklisted and removed from the platform to protect partner properties against invalid bookings.

Pricing & savings

When we state savings such as “up to 75% off overnight rates”, that means the best available Pause listing on the platform may save up to that percentage compared to the hotel's overnight BAR — not that every booking saves that amount.

BAR (Best Available Rate) is the lowest real overnight room rate the hotel publishes for the same room category — before tax and before property/resort fees, matching how Pause prices are quoted. It is not:

A crossed-out reference price on Booking.com, Agoda, or other OTAs
An OTA checkout total that bundles tax and fees — that overstates BAR because Pause compares to the pre-tax room rate only
Similar short-stay products on other platforms (different product)

(Overnight BAR − Pause room rate) ÷ Overnight BAR × 100

Savings vary by property, room type, date, and rate selected.
Hotels provide BAR references; Pause may hide listings that do not meet minimum savings rules.

Pricing & fees

Listed Pause room rates are transparent daytime room rates shown without platform booking fees or added taxes.

All bookings require $0 online prepayment. Payment is made directly to the hotel upon arrival.

Any balance due at the hotel (including room rates and security deposits) is collected directly by the hotel. Incidental property amenities or local fees, if applicable, are settled directly with the property.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the platform (fraud, scraping, interference, or illegal activity). We may suspend accounts or cancel bookings that violate these Terms or hotel policies.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Cambodian law, Lotus Systems is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for hotel service failures beyond arranging the booking. Our total liability related to a booking is limited to the amount, if any, paid to Pause for that booking.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date on this page.
